Who we are

"Smart Health Benefits," "we," "us," and "our" refers to the operator of smart-health-benefits.vercel.app, the rate-comparison and information site for Working Owner group health plans. Health plans themselves are administered by Detego Health LLC and offered through group programs associated with Population Science Management. When you move past the rate tool on this site into enrollment, you are interacting with those administrators and their carriers directly.

Information we collect

Information you give us on this site. The rate calculator asks for your age band, sex, who will be covered, and your state. The provider-search tool asks for a doctor name, hospital, or ZIP code. None of these inputs require an account and none are stored on our servers. Clicking "Search networks" may copy your query to your clipboard so you can paste it into a carrier directory.

Information collected automatically. We use Vercel Web Analytics to record page views, referrer URLs, country-level location, device type, and approximate screen size. Vercel Analytics is a first-party, cookie-less analytics service. It does not use tracking cookies and does not build cross-site user profiles. Additional technical information (IP address, user agent) is processed transiently by our hosting provider (Vercel) for the purpose of delivering the site.

Information collected by third parties we link to. When you click "See if I qualify" you are taken to discover.ironhealthbenefits.com/suitability/, which is operated by a separate company under its own privacy policy. When you click "Book a coverage check" you are taken to Calendly. When you click a provider directory link (Aetna, Blue Cross, First Health) you are taken to that carrier's site. When you click a plan card, you are taken to 1enrollment.com or flippingbook.com to view the plan comparison PDF. We do not control and are not responsible for what those sites collect.

How we use information

We use analytics data to understand which pages are read, which states visitors are shopping from, and whether the rate tool and provider search are working. We do not sell analytics data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to retarget you with ads.

Who we share information with

Vercel Inc. hosts the site and processes the analytics described above, subject to its own privacy commitments. When you click through to the suitability check, Calendly, a carrier directory, or a plan comparison document, you are sharing information with that company on its own terms. We do not disclose your information to any other party except when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of anyone.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not set any first-party tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser may store standard functional items (local storage for the rate calculator's in-memory state, for example). Vercel's hosting may set essential cookies for security or load balancing. Third-party sites linked from here set their own cookies according to their policies.

Data retention

Because we do not collect or store personally identifiable information on this site, there is nothing for us to retain about you individually. Aggregated analytics data is retained by Vercel according to its retention schedule (typically 12 months).

Your rights

Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to (1) know what categories of personal information we process about you, (2) request deletion of information we hold about you, (3) correct inaccurate information, and (4) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA. Because we do not maintain accounts or contact records from this site, most requests here will confirm that we do not hold information about you. Residents of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland with GDPR rights can make the same kinds of requests through the same contact.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with this site, contact us and we will delete anything that we can identify.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We do not store user accounts or submitted form data on our own servers, which materially limits the kind of breach that affects most web businesses. Downstream systems (the suitability check, the carriers, and the plan administrator) have their own security practices.

International users

The site is hosted in the United States on Vercel's infrastructure. If you visit from outside the US, your interaction with the site is transmitted to and processed in the US.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in a brief summary at the top of this page for 30 days after the change takes effect.
